Software Architecture

Our core software includes both Unix and Windows platform servers, delivering a rich array of Internet applications including ASP, ASP.NET, Java, Perl, and PHP. Hosted Databases include Microsoft SQL and mySQL. These emerging software languages serve as the platform for almost all of the leading Web based applications built today. Physical Infrastructure

The core strength of our network is our multiple redundant 100 MB fiber optic connections to the Internet. We connect directly to multiple redundant Internet peers with 100MB fiber. Our low latency, burstable connections are capable of providing huge amounts of bandwidth on demand. What that means to you is that your website is more available, loads much quicker, and your data downloads much faster.

Our Server Mesh is configured to utilize multiple physical redundant locations ensuring that your data remains safe and available at all times. This unique architecture surpasses the worlds largest telecommunications company’s hosting system’s redundancy, which is typically located in a single facility, providing a single point of failure. Our flexible hosted data services offer true on demand service which is always available, anywhere, anytime.

National IT has deployed an innovative network architecture which provides the ultimate in system redundancy. By deploying multiple data centers in separate physical locations, we ensure your data is always safe and available. Our sites are directly physically connected via redundant 100 MB Fiber Rings on a Private Fiber Optic Network. This Private Fiber Optic Network enables separate physical locations to be connected at speed faster than if they were located beside one another, eliminating the lengthy network routing delays associated with other redundant providers.

Using best of breed hardware including Dell Poweredge Servers and Cisco Routers, National IT delivers unmatched reliability. How can we do that? RAID or 'Redundant Array of Independent Disks' is a way of storing the same data in different places (thus, redundantly) on multiple hard disks. By placing data on multiple disks, I/O operations can overlap in a balanced way, improving performance. Since multiple disks increases the mean time between failure (MTBF), storing data redundantly also increases fault-tolerance.

The power supplies to secure hosting our facilities are fully backed up with UPS devices and a fully automatic generator system enabling unlimited hours of power supply in the event of a power cut. Our diesel generators have sufficient capacity to maintain not only the servers, but our dual 5-tonne climate control systems, security and routers which protect our servers.

You might think that this level of backup was overkill, but at National IT, we have gone one step further, we have this infrastructure at multiple fully redundant facilities. Our investment in infrastructure ensures your company’s critical data is always available. In fact, during the large scale power outage which struck the Eastern part of the US and Canada, our servers remained up and running with no interruptions!

Pro-active monitoring tools enable National IT to detect potential problems, before they impact customers. We regularly monitor our servers 24x7 for a wide variety of threats including: traffic/disk usage, CPU load, hacking attempts and denial-of-service. Our servers have multiple connections to the latest in anti-spam registries to ensure we have the latest updates. Senior technicians are alerted to service issues 24x7.
